The Belgian registry DNS Belgium and ipcom (sister company of nic.at) have signed a cooperation agreement. All domains managed by DNS Belgium will additionally be hosted on the RcodeZero DNS anycast network powered by nic.at. The Belgian registry is responsible for the overall management of .be, .vlaanderen and .brussels with around 1.6 million domains.

Richard Wein, CEO of nic.at, is delighted that another European registry decided to use RcodeZero DNS as a secondary anycast provider: “There has been a long partnership between DNS Belgium and nic.at for years. As the former backend provider for .brussels and .vlaanderen we had already proved our robust and reliable services. I am proud that our service convinced our Belgian colleagues and that they are relying on our anycast network. A network that already hosts 22 different TLDs at 21 highly available locations all over the world.”

Security, quality and reliability are not only qualities that perfectly describe RcodeZero DNS, they are also key values of DNS Belgium. With its goal to remain a reliable and innovative player in the domain name world, the additional anycast network is an ideal extension to achieve this. Philip De Bois, General Manager at DNS Belgium, explains the reasons he chose RcodeZero DNS: “With our strong focus on Operational Excellence we are convinced we have chosen the best partner for this collaboration. nic.at has proved to be a reliable partner who will focus on providing the best possible service.” Philip Du Bois, General Manager DNS Belgium
