Over the past 15 years, RcodeZero DNS has evolved from a small internal Anycast project at nic.at into a globally trusted DNS service. What started with just a handful of locations has grown into a powerful global infrastructure for registries, Internet Service Provider and organizations. Today, the Anycast service operates more than 60 nodes worldwide across two independent clouds in two autonomous systems (AS) with 26 different providers.
Exactly 15 years ago today, RcodeZero’s first DNS customer signed up. Celebrating 15 years of RcodeZero DNS, the Anycast service has grown from a small internal project at nic.at into a globally trusted DNS platform serving more than 20 TLDs worldwide. Built on continuous development and a strong customer-first mindset, the service has established itself as a reliable partner for European registries.
RcodeZero DNS is celebrating its 15th anniversary in April – marking a journey defined by continuous improvement, strong customer focus and steady international growth. What began as a small internal project to secure Austria’s .at TLD infrastructure has evolved into a globally trusted Anycast DNS solution serving more than 30 million domains across hundreds of customers.

Our customers have recently benefited from 5 new nodes in Bucharest, Milan, Paris, Chicago, and Luxembourg. A restructuring in North America allowed us to launch 3 additional nodes exclusively for our TLD customers in Miami, New Jersey, and San Jose, while also future-proofing existing nodes.
