Ultimate availability for your domains on 20+ locations worldwide. RcodeZero Anycast-DNS is a reliable high performance secondary DNS service using Anycast technology. Anycast technology allows having the same IP address reachable on multiple geographic locations around the globe. Routing protocols on the Internet ensure that a request reaches the topological closest instance of the Anycast cloud. Latency is minimized by that and traffic is distributed on the various locations (nodes) around the world. Currently we have a global footprint with more than 20 locations covering all continents. In particular in the case of an attack on the nameserver network, only the closest node is affected and the others operate unaffected. Furthermore, since the whole Anycast DNS network only utilizes one IP address, DNS packets stay smaller compared to multiple unicast instances (just a single NS record is contained in the delegation).

RcodeZero Anycast-DNS provides the following nameservers:
psec1.rcode0.net
psec2.rcode0.at

These name servers must be added to the domain delegation in the parent zone. You can usually configure the name servers with your registrar or hosting provider, where you ordered the domain. Please use the web interface of your registrar or hosting provider to update the mentioned nameservers, or ask you provider to do so.

THE LICENSE INFO TAB
The following license details are provided by the Plesk extension:

User: This is the RcodeZero username used by the extension. This username will be created when you buy the extension and is linked to your Plesk license
Package: defines which Plesk RcodeZero package you have chosen
Maxdomains: defines the max. amount of domains in your actual package
Orderdate: defines the date you ordered
Expirydate: defines the date the license expires
Status: defines the status of the installed RcodeZero extention


THE OVERVIEW TAB

The following status details for your domains are provided by the Plesk extension:

Anycast Status
Enabled
The RcodeZero Anycast DNS service is enabled for this domain. DNS requests to your domain will be answered globally from 20+ locations, giving your domain higher availability and faster DNS resolution.
Disabled
The RcodeZero Anycast DNS service is not enabled for this domain. DNS requests to your domain will only be answered by your current DNS servers.
Unknown
Failed to query the status from RcodeZero. Make sure to not block outgoing requests to port 443 and accept certificates from well-known CAs. To test the HTTPS connection login with SSH to your Plesk server and execute: curl https://api.rocde0.net/

 

Transfer Status
OK
Everything is fine. RcodeZero could transfer the DNS zone (domain) from your Plesk server and deployed it globally.
Out of sync
RcodeZero Anycast DNS could not transfer the DNS zone (domain) from your Plesk server. Please check your firewalls. You have to enable incoming UDP and TCP requests to port 53 from 83.136.34.0/27.

Nameservers

OK
Everything is fine. The RcodeZero nameservers are configured in the parent DNS zone.
Incomplete
The RcodeZero nameservers are missing in the parent DNS zone. Add the nameservers psec1.rcode0.net, psec2.rcode0.at to the parent DNS zone. The parent zone is usually the string followed after the label you have chosen, e.g. for the domain yourdomain.com the parent zone is .com. The nameserver entries in the parent zone are usually administered by your registrar or hosting provider, where you ordered the domain. Please use the web interface of your registrar or hosting provider to update the mentioned nameservers, or ask you provider to do so.
Lame
The parent DNS zone delegates the domain to the RcodeZero nameservers, but the RcodeZero service is not enabled. Activate RcodeZero for this domain, or remove the RcodeZero nameservers from the parent zone (see above).
Unknown
Failed to query the DNS to retrieve the delegation status in the parent zone. Make sure that there is a proper DNS configuration on your Plesk server. There also may be a problem with the DNS settings of your domain.
 
Feature Status

Domains
Domains are fully supported.
Subdomains
Subdomains are currently not supported. Hence, Subdomains will not be shown in the RcodeZero extension. If the Subdomain uses the DNS zone of its Parent Domain, the Subdomain automatically uses RcodeZero if the Parent Domain has RcodeZero activated. If the Subdomain uses its own DNS zone, this zone can not be activated on RcodeZero. For the latter case, as a workaround, you could create the website as "Domain" instead of "Subdomain".
Aliases
Alias Domains are supported, but special care must be taken. If an Alias Domain uses "Synchronize DNS zone with the primary domain", the Alias Domain must use the same RcodeZero status as the Primary Domain. Hence, if the Primary Domain uses RcodeZero you must activate RcodeZero also for all of its Alias Domains.
